How This Art Is Made, and Whether AI-Assisted Art Belongs in a Jewish Home
The full process, what you receive, and how AI-assisted art sits within the Jewish tradition of beautifying the home.
Every piece in this shop is made with AI-assisted tools, under my own artistic direction. I love sharing how it comes together, so here is the whole process, openly and in full: when you choose art for a Jewish home, it is good to know exactly what you are bringing into it and who stands behind it.
How a piece comes together
I am Eran Regev. Each piece follows roughly these steps:
- A vision for the piece. A style, a palette, a mood, a wall it might live on. This shapes everything that follows.
- Detailed, iterative prompting. Dozens of passes, refining the composition, the light, the figures at prayer and the character of the stone.
- Curation, which is most of the work. I look through many versions and keep only the few where the light, the feeling and the architecture of the Wall all come together.
- Preparation for print. The chosen image is prepared for every print size: resolution, proportion, and colour tuned so the piece looks as good on your wall as it does on the screen.
What you receive
Each piece is a print of a digital artwork. The palette-knife impasto style and the gold-leaf effect are part of the printed image, on a smooth surface, and what impasto is explains how that look is captured. Every piece is an artistic tribute to a sacred place, made to be lived with and loved.
Every listing notes that the work is AI-assisted. Buyers of Jewish art care deeply about provenance, and sharing it openly is part of the work.
Is AI-assisted art appropriate for a Jewish home?
It is a thoughtful question, and people sometimes ask it. Here is how I see it.
Judaism has a beautiful value for this: Hiddur Mitzvah (הידור מצווה), beautifying a commandment, making a sacred space beautiful. What it celebrates is the intent and the beauty of the result. Printed art, woven textiles and crafted silver have graced observant homes for generations, each made with the tools of its time.
Alongside beauty comes honesty, which is why every piece is described exactly as it is made, here and on every listing.
Respect for the subject matters to me just as much. I check every piece against the real Wall: the courses of the stone, the perspective, the plaza, the details a knowledgeable eye will recognise. Getting the Kotel right is the heart of my curation.
What goes into every piece
Each piece carries the artistic direction, the careful selection, the print preparation, and materials made to last: acid-free, pH-neutral, OBA-free fine-weave canvas at 344 g/m², stretched over solid wood, printed in the United States and shipped ready to hang.
And it comes with a personal, open answer to any question you have about it.
